OD Into the Future: Keep, Leave, Learn
At the August meeting, as an environmental assessment, we discussed the perils of short-term thinking, episodic and piecemeal solutions, reactive and vision-less strategy, and the growth imperative.
The impact of these corporate practices has inspired consultant offerings ranging from helping organizations operate more coherently to contracting to address pinpoint problems, like team building or executive coaching.
This month, we’ll briefly review the environmental assessment to unearth any new perspectives or insights. Then we’ll look at OD practice in greater depth to identify its unique contribution to organizational success. With OD’s value proposition further articulated, we’ll discuss how to market this to clients, including those in reactive mode and those considering transformative change.

- How can OD practice be enhanced; what to learn?

Her social impact and program management perspective is grounded in disciplined analysis, entrepreneurial tools, and real-world application. Additionally, she champions recognizing how cognition and emotion shape how we work and organizational outcomes. Ellen infuses human-centered design approaches in how she identifies the right problems to solve and which solutions to employ.
Professional education is also a major theme in Ellen’s career. She has produced accredited continuing education programs for healthcare professionals and corporate trainers. She continues to develop and produce education and membership development programs for professional associations and corporate groups.
