July – Organizational Design: Where’s the Innovation? (07/13/17)

Organizational design is defined as a step-by-step methodology which identifies dysfunctional aspects of work flow, procedures, structures and systems, realigns them to fit current business realities/goals, and then develops plans to implement the new changes …. jeez, how boring is that?

Where are the new models of org design coming from?  Do we even have any?

Come to our July 13 meeting to engage in a lively debate among old and new friends and other OD practitioners as we dissect and discern the current state of org design, and what the heck can we do bolster our field of study, our profession, and our passion.

Within the personal development field a new model and viewpoint called positive psychology has emerged and has gained tremendous traction.  Where is OD’s “positive psychology”?

Dr.  Glen B.  Earl, a 25 year veteran of the OD wars, will facilitate our passionate and compassionate dialogue.  He currently serves as the project manager for the Organization Development Network’s certification project.  As of July 11, Glen has been at Parkland Hospital for 6 years, all spent in leadership and organization development.  Dr.  Earl is certified in Marshall Goldsmith’s Stakeholder Centered Coaching, and is busy coaching 12 Parkland leaders and HiPos.

Note:  SB Hall is on the north side the campus, near Gorman Dr. and Haggar Circle (across the street from the Art History building where we met in 2014).
The SBH Serafy Special Events room is on the first floor (use any door).

Parking:  Lot Q, along Dominican Lane (just northeast of the building), or Lot L (to the southwest).

Cost:   No charge for members ($60/year).  $10 for guests.
