Organizations & OD of the Future:
Where Today?  Where Tomorrow?  Am I ready?

We live in a VUCA (Volatile – Uncertain – Complex – Ambiguous) organizational world that is confusing and in constant flux. Bob Johansen (“The New Leadership Literacies” – Barrett-Koehler 2017) tells us that we need to look 10 years into the future to gain “foresight.” That foresight will give us “insight” about today which we can use to determine “actions” to take in 2018.

Join us for a mind twisting look at organizations 10 years from now and how we as leaders and consultants will need to change in order to succeed in the world of “shape-shifting organizations,” “fluid, temporary hierarchies,” “distributed everything,” “extreme dilemmas,” and “constant disruption!”

By the way, the field of Organization Development is a little bit fuzzy. What is inside the OD boundaries and what is out? We will address that topic through a brief discussion of the future oriented “Global OD Practice Framework” being developed by the OD Network  (http://www.odnetwork.org/general/custom.asp?page=globalframework). We will also assess ourselves against the Framework so that we can identify personal opportunities for self-development and contribution in 2018. Our colleague Glen Earl has been working on the team developing that Framework and will provide color commentary and insight on it.

If you work hard and focus you can walk out with a beginning outline for a “Personal Development & Contribution Plan” for 2018.  Please join us on 1/11 for what should be a great kickoff for the new year!
